When I felt challenged to be a more political social worker, Victor guided me through the complexities of political situations. His approach is rooted in empathy and insight, which has empowered me to confront difficulties head-on and emerge with actionable strategies for success. Additionally, his experience in these spaces as a social worker uniquely qualifies him to understand the importance of incorporating our code of ethics in our decisions, while also focusing on the importance of human relationships, which are especially critical in this work.

As an aspiring advocate for foster care reform, I was thrilled when Victor connected me with key policymakers in Los Angeles County. Drawing on his extensive political experience and influential network, he facilitated introductions that opened doors and gave me a seat at the table. With his guidance, I was able to directly engage county officials, share my insights, and advocate for critical changes to improve the lives of foster youth.

Throughout my year as President-Elect of the NASW CA Chapter Board, Victor provided guidance, mentorship, and a steady hand, ensuring I was equipped to take on the role of Chapter President with confidence.
